We welcome partnerships for research and monitoring, however it’s important to understand our community-driven and community-inclusive approach to projects. Research projects should include the following:
- Junior Rangers Activities – Junior Ranger activities are incorporated into our research agreements. This helps to develop the Junior Ranger Program content and learning, plus allows the ‘research’ to engage with the wider community, including the next generation of adult rangers. Research activities may have engage suitably qualified people to help develop environmental education activities when working with us or to specify funds for this purpose.
- Community Information Sessions or Activities – we would like to ensure that all Lama Lama People are aware of, and hear about, research on Country by including activities, field-days, and information sessions wherever possible into our research projects.
- Working alongside our Rangers – 0ur Ranger teams are involved hands-on in mutually-beneficial research, skills development and knowledge exchange.
- Data Usage – we have clear agreements in place around data usage and storage. This includes photographs, video and audio recordings, datasheets etc.
- Report Writing and Journals – research and data sharing agreements are put in place regarding what will be written, who it will be shared with and any co-authoring arrangements.
- Research Funding – we are a community based ranger program, who receives funding to undertake a range of natural and cultural resource management work. We can contribute to research, but not fully fund our involvement. Projects need to bring operational funds for research and community engagement activities, as well as specialised equipment where necessary.
- Contributions for Future Opportunities – we are open to receiving funds to develop on-going research programs and skills development directly. We are a charity and registered for Tax Benevolent Status.
If you are interested in working with us, or helping to fund our projects, please contact our Executive Officer on executive@lamalama.org.au for further information.
