We have an extensive monitoring program for our flora and fauna. Each year we undertake biological surveys of Country with individuals, partner organisations, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and the Queensland Herbarium.
Through our program, we map and document the natural values of Country and identify threats.
This involves a four step approach. We:
- map vegetation – this work contributes to the Queensland Government’s Regional Ecosystem Mapping Program
- assess species identification and composition – looking at what species are found in different habitats
- identify threats, and
- develop management actions that guide our Ranger work.
